Turn Up the Music! Music Outreach Workshop

Our non-profit touring program brings directly to you an incredible combination of high-energy, team-building, confidence-boosting FUN! Using music as the tool, our cast of specially trained college age performer/teachers provide a safe and fun atmosphere for your students to learn, explore, create, and GROW!

We draw on more than 20 years of experience travelling across the globe to create an unparalleled 3-day signature workshop experience. Students learn and stay within their age groups. Registration fee includes a tour t-shirt, the costume for the final performance alongside The Young Americans cast of 45 international performers.

The Music Outreach Program Aims to:

  • Encourage music in the schools of our nation and around the world.
  • Train young people in vocal techniques, dance, and comedy improvisation, to stage movement, sound, lighting, and more.
  • Share insight and understanding of different cultures.
  • Strengthen character & develop self-esteem, self-worth, and leadership

We roll into town with one of our intrepid, 45-member crews for a three-day signature workshop for an elementary, middle, or high school. Up to 400 students sign up to participate in a vibrant and exciting music intensive. In just three days, we turn a group of eager students into a show to remember, demonstrating to teachers, parents, school districts and communities the power of music education.

History of the Outreach Tours

The International Music Outreach Tours were created by The Young Americans® in 1992 to bring music back into schools, opening doors of discovery for the musical talents of young people. Since the first group of Young Americans stepped into a high school gymnasium in Florida in 1992, our Music Outreach programs continue to lead the way, creating the largest music education movement in the world. In 2014 alone, we visited 225 communities and worked with over 52,637 students from kindergarten to high school. Our 3-day outreach intensive continues to inspire youth, empower teachers, and strengthen education systems across the globe. Through our national tours this year we have given $220,000 directly back to music programs totaling over $400,000 since founding the Turn Up The Music campaign – our million dollar commitment to the arts.

Scholarships

Because The Young Americans  believe so strongly in the power and importance of music in the lives of young people, they don't want anyone to miss an opportunity to be part of this amazing workshop.  Therefor, scholarships, partial and full are available for students who may have financial difficulty.

REGISTRATION COST ›› $ 59 ›› includes a t-shirt (costume for the show)

T-SHIRT ›› This is the costume for the show and souvenir for your student. Students will be allowed to collect signatures on their shirt after the performance from The Young Americans cast and their friends.

DISCOUNT ›› For multi-family members registering together: Any family that registers 2 or more family members together will receive $10 off per registrant. This will be applied at the end of the registration process. 
 
SHOW TICKETS will be sold for the finale show at the end of each workshop day & 30 minutes prior to the performance. We want to stress the importance of purchasing tickets before the show day to ensure you have a seat. As a reminder, your student(s) that are in the workshop do not need a ticket.
